Life X Life & Death Educational Project

Through organizing a variety of life-and-death education programmes such as art and board game workshops, immersive activities, guided tours, exhibitions and talks, "Life X Life & Death Educational Project" aims to break the social taboo on death, encouraging the public to explore and rethink the value of life, issues about life and death as well as late-stage care.

The project aims to provide professional pre- and post-life planning services for the elderly, patients, and grassroots individuals. The team consists of professionals from legal, medical, and funeral sectors, offering a one-stop solution to help grassroots individuals prepare for a fulfilling end-of-life journey. In addition to providing workshops and consultation services, the services also include handling and executing the "5 Blessings," which are:

2. Enduring Powers of Attorney
3. Advance Medical Directive
4. Post-life Arrangement
5. Life Story

These services aim to enable beneficiaries to prepare themselves and their loved ones with dignity to complete their life's journey.

Social enterprise "Legal Redesigned Limited" was established in 2021, collaborating with charitable organizations and law firms in Hong Kong to launch a free, professional, and compassionate will-making service. It encourages the public to donate their estates and leave a "Legacy Gift" for charitable organizations.

As long as individuals are willing to donate a minimum of HKD 10,000 from their estate to at least one charitable organization partnered with "Legal Redesigned Limited" after passing away, they can have their will drafted for free through a lawyer.

Hong Kong Family Welfare Society started to kick off Advance Care Planning Project since 2017; and scale up the project in 2021 with additional funding support of Vera Ruttonjee Desai Charitable Fund.  This project aims to enhance service users’ understanding on advance care planning and preparing for their end of life so as to reduce regret and family distress.

Forget Thee Not engages the public to rethink the meaning of life through education, advocacy and practical implementation of plans to ensure the best possible transition. They advocate for proactive planning approaches to address the challenges of end-of-life journeys, using tools such as advance directive, caring plan, funerals and related instructions. If an individual, ailing or otherwise, unexpectedly becomes unconscious and/or unable to recover, their family members and doctors can follow their expressed preferences to make the appropriate arrangements for their transition. In this way, the patient can live their final moments with the greatest dignity.

"Keep It Simple" launched the "Keep It Simple - Integrated Care and Post-Life Services" in 2020, primarily targeting vulnerable communities and individuals in need.
